The Image

Each original image is created by Mike Shipman and printed on archival, museum-quality materials for long life. Images are generally printed full frame from 35mm, which typically results in a wider or taller image than "standard". For example, 8x12 instead of 8x10. Full frame and cropped image sizes are reflected in the print dimensions when you order.

Photos are printed on archival paper with at least a 1" white border on all sides around the image. The title, creation date, and artist signature are in pencil on the white border of the print. The creation date is not the creation date of the original image, but the creation date of that particular print. All prints are un-numbered, open-editions unless specified.

Ordering

Fine art and limited edition prints as well as smaller, machine prints are available on my Portfolio and Gallery pages. Just click on the icon, then the Prints tab, and specify the quantity of each size you wish to order.

For commercial use fee and license information please contact me via my Contact Form. by phone at 208.466.9340, or through the automated process on my Portfolio and Gallery pages. Again, click on the icon, then the Downloads tab. Follow the instructions to specify the usage to receive and pay the fee.

Shipping

Prints are shipped flat and insured via FedEx Ground unless other arrangements are made. Prints can be picked up by arrangement if you are local or will be in the area.

Copying Photos and Copyright

All images created by Mike Shipman are copyrighted material and protected under U.S. and International Copyright laws. Under no circumstances are you entitled to copy or allow others to copy a photograph purchased for private use. This includes digitally scanning the photograph, having the photograph duplicated professionally, or the use of any other duplication method. A license is not granted for the creation of derivitive works, such as drawings, paintings, sculpture, collage, or other manipulation of the original image. Copyright infringement can result in the assessment of monetary penalties up to $150,000 per infraction as well as court costs and attorney's fees.

Original prints purchased from Blue Planet Photography are strictly for private use only. They may not be used for commercial use unless a commercial use fee is also paid. Commmercial use is any use that brings value to the person or organization using the photograph, including but not limited to, the resale of original prints, display or sale in public or commercial galleries, publication in magazines, newspapers, newsletters, brochures, flyers, photocopied handouts, and any Web site or e-mail distribution. Commercial usage also applies to non-profit organizations or individuals who use a photograph in the above manner, or similar.
